What is Proposition 65?

The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, commonly known as Proposition 65 (or Prop 65), is a California law that requires businesses to provide warnings to Californians about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. These chemicals can be found in products purchased in California, in homes or workplaces, or that are released into the environment.

Why Are We Providing This Warning?

Proposition 65 requires California consumers to receive clear and reasonable warnings before being exposed to chemicals that are on the Proposition 65 list. BREEDTECH provides this warning out of an abundance of caution because certain products, packaging materials, or components may contain trace amounts of one or more chemicals on the Proposition 65 list.

Applicability

This warning applies to all products sold by BREEDTECH on this Site, including but not limited to: cannabis seeds and genetic materials, packaging and shipping materials, branded merchandise and accessories, and any other products available for purchase.

Additional Information

The presence of a Proposition 65 warning does not necessarily mean that a product is unsafe. Proposition 65 warnings are intended to help California consumers make informed decisions about the products they use. The warning is based on the presence of a listed chemical, regardless of the level of exposure or risk.
